Roundhay High School
Roundhay School is a vibrant and successful comprehensive school which reflects the truly cosmopolitan nature of Leeds. We are delighted to have been recognised by Ofsted as ‘An Outstanding and high performing school where every child really does matter equally’. We are proud of our broad, appropriate and largely traditional curriculum that equips our young people for the future. This is reflected in our EBacc performance, which was twice the national average and placed us fifth in Leeds. We believe that our motto, ‘Courtesy, Co-operation and Commitment’, underpins our academic success. We feel it is important to work hard together as we seek to develop well-rounded young citizens for the 21st Century. We are fortunate to have committed staff, excellent facilities and a thriving sixth form of nearly 400 students. We are also well supported by parents, of whom 99 percent would recommend us to other parents. All these help to make us the most popular school in Leeds.
We are far from complacent and never claim to get it right all of the time. Staff tirelessly seek to improve all that we do, in and out of the classroom. We expect no less of all our pupils, as we set everyone high standards to achieve. We believe it is important not to stand still and are honoured to be a National Support School, assisting other schools in the city and region through sharing good practice. Roundhay will become an ‘All-through school’ (4 –19 years) in September 2012. We shall have a newly-built £4.5 million primary centre located a mile from our main school campus to serve the needs of an expanding primary-aged population in Leeds.

Carr Manor High School
Carr Manor High School is a forward thinking school in North East Leeds that has made significant progress over recent years in improving outcomes for pupils. Providing an inclusive and caring environment, we take pride in knowing our children well and in providing substantial support to pupils and colleagues to enable effective teaching and learning. As a Specialist Sports College we are able to pilot new initiatives and lead the way in Sport for the benefit of our pupils, staff and the community.
In September 2006 we moved into a new multi-million pound building that provides excellent learning and sporting facilities, including rugby/football pitches, Multi Use Games Area, all weather pitch, athletics track, fully equipped sports hall and fitness suite.
We are delighted that from September 2012 Carr Manor High School will become a ‘Through School,’ called Carr Manor Community School. We will receive children from aged 4 years old into a new, purpose built primary building which will be located next to the current school buildings. -

Brendan Chaplin
Brendan has worked with a variety of athletic populations from recreational athletes through to Olympians. Currently he is the head of Strength and Conditioning for Leeds Met Carnegie as well as the conditioner for the Asylum Vale Tudo MMA Fight-Team, and has numerous private clients including champion Mixed Martial Artists, pro cyclists and motor cycle riders, tennis athletes, strongmen and many other sportsmen and women. Previous to his current roles he has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for Huddersfield Giants Rugby League, the English Institute of Sport, Durham University, British Tennis (the Lawn Tennis Association) and has worked with many national governing bodies and sports teams as a coach, coach educator, and consultant.
He is an accredited strength and conditioning coach through the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA), he also holds the CSCS qualification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Academically he has a masters degree in strength and conditioning through the University of Bolton. He is a keen martial artist having trained in Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Olympic Wrestling and many other forms of martial arts and is a qualified wrestling and boxing coach as well as a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

West Yorkshire Police
West Yorkshire Police serve approximately 2.2 million people living in one of the five metropolitan districts. The physical area, of some 2000 square kilometres or 780 square miles, contains the West Yorkshire conurbation and a network of motorway and trunk roads which allow easy access to and from other population centres.
The area is policed by around 5,400 police officers and 4,000 support staff, including Police Community Support Officers. This makes the Force the fourth largest in the country.
The Force area is very varied combining busy cities and towns with quiet villages and picturesque rural locations. People are equally varied and represent a diverse range of ethnic cultural and economic backgrounds.
For this reason, the policing is delivered from 8 separate police divisions, providing most of the day-to-day policing services performed through the county. There are also teams of specialist police and support staff personnel based at headquarters and at various other locations around the Force.
The overwhelming majority of police officers are engaged in operational duties that contribute towards the community safety for the people of West Yorkshire.
