Men's
The Men’s first team enter their third National League Division One Season in 2011-12 and their 6th in England Basketball’s National League structure. In this short time the team has had a rapid ascension through the ranks and established itself as a contender on every level.
In 2006-2007 the Leeds Carnegie Basketball programme was established with the appointment of Director of Basketball; Matthew Newby. In their inaugural season the programme they topped the Division Four (North) table securing promotion to Division Three and won the National Shield at the first time of asking.
The following season the team would secure the Division Three (North) and the Division Three playoffs in convincing fashion walking out of 2007-2008 with the double.
They opened 2008-2009 in Division Two and the season would see the Leeds Carnegie Men earn a 3rd consecutive promotion by winning Division Two in addition to taking the Patrons Cup, finishing runners up in the Division Two playoffs and reaching the semi-finals of the National Cup.
The 2009-2010 season gave them their first taste of top flight basketball and their ambition and hunger would see them play for the Division One League title on the last day of the season a loss would see them finish 3rd in the Division at their first attempt.
In 2010-2011 the team would be forced to fight through their most challenging season to date and in the face of adversity they would make it to the National Trophy finals finishing runners up, close the regular season in 4th and advance to the National Division One Playoff Final Fours where they would advance in overtime on the Saturday to the final and fall at the final hurdle on the Sunday finishing with their 2nd Silver Medal of the season. With the team graduating eight members and four going on to professional careers in basketball there are high expectations of the incoming and returning class.
